I've dedicated an entire page to the tug Clipper, which I worked from 1993 to 1996. It was the last vessel in my seafaring career. I had the great fortune to work with the finest crew of my entire sea-going experience on this tug. This page, and it's links, are dedicated to them. Ron was my right hand man on the mid-watch. We had many a laugh during those early morning hours and shared many near crises and a few real crises together. I always felt very secure knowing that Ron was awake and looking after things. He is a natural sailor and we made a great team in the wheelhouse.
Jim was the barge Captain. He was unshakable, could not be rattled. This is an especially desirable trait to have in a shipmate. He, Ron, and I formed a great team. Here he is putting together the "Felix Gear" for a trip up the coast.
"Bullet" was the able seaman on the other watch. This picture speaks volumes. He was very talented with electronics, especially with cameras and videos. Haven't seen Bullet in while, I can only imagine he is doing just fine.
John was the engineer and was also on the mid-watch. He was our Bostonian representative and we had many laughs together. John was typical of a seafaring man, independent, and at home anywhere. He presently lives on a boat somewhere on the eastern seaboard.
Sorry Rich, I don't have a picture of you. |
