Inching through the ice in the Hudson River. At times we would
come to a complete stop and have to back up and then come full ahead just to gain a few
feet. But the people of Albany, N.Y. needed their heating oil, so we had to keep trying.
The ice is about 4 to 6 ft. thick.
Here's a view of the stern. We saw people walking from bank to
bank visiting their across river neighbors.
